Housing Request

Housing Request for 2024 Performers

Dear Patron,

My name is Rachel Bertone and I am the Artistic Director at Reagle Music Theatre (RMT). RMT has been bringing Broadway-quality productions to the Greater Boston area for over 50 years. As a pillar of the Waltham community, we are proud to provide professional musical theater experiences that inspire creativity, learning, and a lifelong love of theatre.

While we continue to recover from the pandemic as a non-profit theater company, we are striving to keep costs as low as possible so that we can fulfill our mission of presenting accessible, affordable, and inclusive programming to our vibrant Waltham community.

I am writing to humbly request your support and ask if you would be willing to provide accommodations for one or more performers this summer. In order to cast the most talented and diverse group of artists, we often need to hire performers who live out of state or do not have means of transportation. Being able to offer them local housing allows us to stay true to our mission and offer as many opportunities as we can to artists of various backgrounds and needs.

I know the impact that such an accommodation can have. Many years ago, RMT offered me my first professional acting job; however, I was in need of local housing. I would not have accepted that offer - or the next five years of offers - had I not been provided housing. I continued to work for Reagle for ten consecutive years before I was hired as the new Artistic Director. Needless to say, that one gesture of generosity changed the course of my personal career and the company's trajectory.

Any housing that you could provide either at discount or as a donation would be of tremendous help.

Our current needs include:

  • Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific (May 27-June 24): Lodging for one or more performers
  • An American in Paris (July 22-August 19): Lodging for up to six performers - Top Priority

Essential requirements for performer and staff lodging include:

  • Single occupancy rooms
  • Non-smoking
  • Availability for the entire rehearsal period and run of the show (up to 4 weeks total)

In return for your generous subsidy or donation, Reagle Music Theatre would be honored to provide:

  • Recognition in our summer playbills (circulation 30K community members) and website
  • A social media shout-out
  • VIP pass to our exclusive opening night parties for each of our summer shows
  • Four complimentary tickets to each of our shows (12 total tickets with a value of $1776!)
  • Tax deductible donation receipt for in-kind services

On behalf of our performers, staff, and vast communities we serve, thank you for considering this request. It is only through the generosity and support from community members, like you, that allow RMT to remain dedicated to serving Waltham and produce the impactful and engaging work we create. We hope to continue uplifting and celebrating our unique community and everyone who lives here for 50 more years to come!

Gratefully,

Rachel Bertone
